Prison Law

In 2010, Lawtons Solicitors was awarded a
contract with the Legal Services Commission to undertake Prison Law work. We
were one of only a handful of regional firms that were able to satisfy the
Legal Services Commission that it had the level of expertise and specialist
knowledge to assist in this niche area.
Where other Firms can ONLY assist up to the point when their clients are sent to Prison,
we are able to assist them whilst they are still in a system that may not
always treat them fairly.
We know that some of the problems our
clients are facing do not just stop when they are sent to Prison, they can
continue throughout their remand period or whilst they are serving a sentence,
whether long or short.
We can advise and assist those clients,
whether new or existing, on their rights within the Prison system and always
try to ensure that they are treated fairly.
We can assist on all Prison Law matters, some of which can be summarised below;
- Adjudications
- Extended Sentences for Public Protection (EPP)
- Recall on Licence
- Parole
- Indeterminate Sentences for Public Protection (IPP)
- Home Detention Curfews (tagging)
- Category Reviews
- Transfers
If you or a family member is in Prison and needs expert legal help and
advice, please contact our Prison Law Department at our Luton
office and we will send out a free Prison Law Pack.
