The law on appealing Bail provides for strict time limits, it must be done within 48 hours, excluding weekends.

Lawtons Criminal Defence Solicitors have just dealt with a case in which the time limits were not followed.

Our experienced Criminal Barrister, Rosie Longman, dealt with the appeal hearing at Cambridge Crown Court and successfully argued that the Bail appeal hearing was out of time. This ensured our client was released from Custody and the Court couldn’t deal with the Appeal.

If it wasn’t for our experienced crime lawyers the tactical decision making in the case may have enabled the Court to have dealt with the case in a different way, this could have resulted in our client still being behind bars.
