Lawtons Solicitors is a long-established criminal defence specialist firm, recognised as being national leaders in crime by Chambers & Partners and ranked by Legal 500. We are a diverse firm and seek up to two committed and hardworking crime paralegals to join our Magistrates/Crown Court teams.

The positions are Hertfordshire-based, though with current Covid restrictions an element of remote working is likely.

The positions will be for an initial 12-month period, though an extension to this or a full-time position may be available depending on progress.

The ideal candidate(s) will have a level of experience in managing criminal case files, though we will consider all candidates. Experience in some or all of the following would be advantageous in the initial selection process:

  • Experience in running Crown Court files
  • Familiarity with Crown Court Digital Case System
  • Police Station accredited
  • Ability to work in a paperless office
  • Experience in using the Legal Aid portal
  • A commitment to criminal work

We have an excellent track record in promoting paralegal staff and supporting them through training contracts. We seek to retain those who excel upon qualification. We have a mix of private and legal aid work, with a very experienced team of senior crime practitioners.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone either seeking a training contract or pupillage.

Remuneration will reflect the candidate.

Please send a CV and covering letter to stephenhalloran@lawtonslaw.co.uk with the subject header title ‘Crime Paralegal 2021’.

Please, no phone calls.
