A demanding murder case that the Firm dealt with exceptional skill in persuading the Prosecution to accept a plea to Manslaughter. A successful appeal to the Court of Appeal followed sentence at first instance.

The Firm commissioned a number of Medical Reports, these reports dealt with the issue of Diminished Responsibility. Because of this, the Prosecution reluctantly accepted a plea to Manslaughter based on the recognised disorder identified.

The Registrar of the Court of Appeal asked the Firm to prepare updated medical reports from all the experts, including Prosecution experts to resolve issues surrounding Hospitals Orders as part of sentence. This rare request was handled with care, skill and diplomacy.

The sentenced was reduced following appeal at the Court of Appeal.
