In March 2022, our client was charged with conspiracy to sell or transfer firearms. He pleaded not guilty, and after expert legal representation by our team at Kingston Upon Thames Crown Court, he was acquitted of all charges.
Our client, alongside two co-defendants, faced serious charges relating to the conspiracy to sell or transfer a shotgun. The shotgun was discovered at a co-defendant’s property, and our client was accused of transporting it. He denied involvement and any association with the co-defendant, leading to his not-guilty plea.
The prosecution presented extensive circumstantial evidence, including cell site records and automatic number plate recognition data, to try and link our client to the alleged conspiracy. However, our team, led by Consultant Solicitor Glen Henry, meticulously analysed phone records, successfully challenging the prosecution’s evidence and asserting our client’s innocence.
After a 16-day trial at Kingston Upon Thames Crown Court, where our client was represented by Barrister Paul Webb of Church Court Chambers, the jury returned a not guilty verdict for our client. The other co-defendants were also acquitted.
Thanks to our expert defence, our client avoided a substantial custodial sentence. He expressed deep gratitude for the dedication, support, and proactive approach shown by our team throughout this challenging process.
