Partner, Joanne Cestaro, was instructed to represent a young man with no prior convictions, charged with Possession of Indecent Images of Children. Our client fully admitted the offences and entered guilty pleas at the earliest opportunity.
Joanne worked closely with barrister Natalie Turner from Lamb Building to prepare a comprehensive mitigation package. A key aspect of this case was our client’s age—while he appeared before the court as an adult, the offences had been committed when he was still a juvenile.
We successfully argued that, due to his age at the time of the offences, no notification requirements should be imposed. As a result, our client was not required to register on the Sex Offenders Register.
The court imposed a Community Order, and our client was extremely relieved and pleased with the outcome.
At Lawtons, we are committed to securing the best possible results for our clients, even in challenging circumstances. If you’ve been charged with a similar crime please do not hesitate to get in touch.
