This case related to a privately funded client accused with two offences of allegedly causing actual bodily harm following an incident in central London shortly before lockdown commenced.

The client was represented by Paul Dillon at Westminster magistrates’ court and set down for trial following the first appearance at court. The case required considerable care as our client was a man of good character and a director of a security company, whereby a conviction would have had huge ramifications to him in respect of DBS checks and his professional reputation.

Following a very careful analysis of the case and all of the available evidence, representations were made to the crown prosecution service that the case should be reviewed. We were able to show to their satisfaction that there was simply insufficient evidence to proceed to trial with the above charges & with the additional procedural difficulties that existed, the prosecution were persuaded to offer no evidence and the case was discontinued.

If you or anyone you know is facing ongoing and new criminal charges, even at this time during the lock-down, please contact us to see how our specialist teams can help.
